Tip of the day: Never have a heart-attack while playing charades.
Mind Dump with Bullets
So, we're home. Tons has happened, so lets see if I can pull it out of my head in something resembling sense.
- Wedding - Went beautifully. Everything went according to plan until way after the ceremony and dinner were over. One of the smoothest weddings I've ever been to. TheAlpha made a comment that has made me think about future career options, but nothing solid there yet.
- Home - We had to delay our return home by a day because my brother called to inform me that there was no power at my house. A call to PP&L (the local electricity barons) confirmed that the shut off was due to some kind of mis-communication between PP&L and my mother-in-law, who's name was on the account. Supposedly MIL called and told PP&L she didn't want to be responsible for it anymore, so they assumed no one lived here and turned it off. GRR. We were supposed to come home Sunday, but stayed an extra day since we hadn't heard from MommyBeast as to what was going on yet. Found out Monday that she knew the answer all weekend, but didn't call us since we were not home. The woman forgets that the only phone we have is a cell phone. Then again, she forgets that Shady cannot hear her when she's leaving a voice mail, so every single message starts with "(Shady)! (Shady) are you there? Pick up the phone!" Anyway, back on topic, Wednesday I finally convinced some idiot at PP&L that we do, in fact live here, we made the damn payment and Thursday morning we had power again. GRRR.
- Work & Money - Ugh. Sending out resumes as fast as I can. The majority of ads I answer turn out to be spam somehow. I did have one very very short interview for someone who wanted me to sell insurance. I won't be surprised if she never calls again. I also have a resume in at the local cable company to do Customer Service there. According to their website, my information has been passed to a manager for review, but no word on where it goes from there. Thankfully, I got an extension on my unemployment, so we will continure to recieve some money every week. Granted, I know people who spend more than that on one single meal, but at least in keeps us in dollar store food and gas to deliver resumes with.
- Writing - Shady is writing up a storm in the other room on her A-Team fanfic. I'm trying to write, but it's just not happening. I'm doing lots of serial killer research, but there doesn't seem to be a serial killer story in my brain at the moment. I'm thinking of reworking Duty of the Living a little so it's not quite so obviously a rip off of the JonBenet Ramsey murder. There's also a ghost story/talking to the dead/Stir of Echoes kind of thing in there somewhere. It just won't come out at the moment. Bleah.
- Reading - Currently stuck in a James Patterson loop. I'm loving both the Women's Murder Club and the Alex Ross books. Now if the WMC installment I've been waiting for for like three weeks would ever get here, I'd be a happy camper. I have challenged myself to read 80 book in 2009 and so far I've hit 25 or so, not counting immediate re-reads so that's pretty good.
- Crafty Crap - Kintting is coming along. Kisa taught me how to crochet granny squares while we were up there though, so I'm working on that right now to help cement the process in my mind. I have a kintting project going too, but if I don't do granny squares for a while, I'll forget how.
- Behbehs - What is it with little girls? Is it something in the water? Ry'ver was born in November, and now I learn that the Godchild that will be born in July is to be a little girl too. And there's not really much doubt. The little showoff made it vary obvious that she's Christina and not Jared by pretty much straddling the 'camera' during Kisa's sonogram. She's gonna have a personality like her dad, you can tell already.
- Diet - NEED TO. Ugh. The wedding pictures are fuckin SCARY.
